Trail overview
Havelock is one of the few places that the administration of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands union territory of India has permitted and encouraged the development of tourism, with a focus on promoting eco-tourism.
Havelock Island avoided much of the devastation by the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and its resulting tsunami and there were no documented casualties.
The island is a haven for Diving. Dotted along the way are many Dive Shops. If you are looking to dive, do your homework before coming and ensure you connect with the dive shop before you arrive.
There are 2 main roads to take and they lead to all the beaches and points of interest. Radha Nagar beach is stunning for its sunsets and the Kalapathar beach is the place for sunrises. Turquoise waters are a given no matter which beach you go to, so don’t worry about that, You are bound to get blown by the scenery.
I stayed at the Barefoot Havelock Resort, and I would highly recommend this place if you have the money.
